Terrace house. c1675-82. Barbon development, the upper floors probably an C18
refacing. Amber stock brick with stuccoed ground floor, slate roof. 3 storeys,
basement and dormered mansard. Entrance to left with panelled door and fanlight
in semicircular arched opening. Recessed sash windows under flat, gauged, red
brick dressings to jambs. Stucco plat band over ground floor and parapet with
coping. Wrought iron area railings. Rear elevation has closet wing with fine
red brick dressings, cornice and parapet. Interior retains passage-hall with
pilastered archway to staircase compartment, notably elegant, open well, cut
string stairs with slender turned balusters grouped 3 per tread,swept and
ramped handrail and carved bracket tread-ends, otherwise only fragments of
panelling and cornices etc.
