Row of terraced town houses. c.1850-55, probably by
Sir James Pennethorne. Stucco, slate roofs. Italianate details. 4 tall
storeys, basements and dormered mansards. Each front 3 windows wide,
those of No. 5 grouped and No. 4 with 8-window return. Large Doric
columned portico-porches to right and left of Nos. 5 and 6 with similar
porch to return of No. 4. Recessed plate glass sashes, those on 1st floor
with segmental pediments, those on 2nd floor with cornices; the 1st and
2nd floor windows of No. 5 arranged as triplets. Banded rustication to
ground floor; stucco balconies to 1st floor with cast iron railings; deep
cornice and blocking course. Cast iron area railings.
