Terraced town house. c1750-53 by the master builder John Phillips in
partnership with George Shakespear, on a Berkeley Estate lease. Brown
brick, slate roof. 4 storeys, including attic storey, on basement. 3
windows wide. Entrance to left with architrave doorcase and carved
consoles to moulded cornice, 6-panel door with radial glazed rectangular
fanlight. Recessed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged arches, in
stuccoed reveals. 1st floor plat band and sill band, main bracketed
cornice over 2nd floor and secondary cornice below parapet. Wrought iron
area railings and twin lampholders with link extinguishers. Interior
little altered with stone staircase with wrought iron balustrade, good
plasterwork ceilings, enriched cornices, chimneypieces, door-furniture,
etc.
