Lodge and gates. c.1850-60 by Sir Charles Barry and Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin, part of the rebuilding of the Palace of Westminster as the Houses of Parliament. Magnesian limestone, Gothic/Tudor domestic. Small octagonal lodge; 1 storey with pointed arched doorway to side and small cusped lancet lights. Stepped and weathered plinth, scroll moulded string capping wall head with miniature crewel cresting, pyramidal stone roof. Tudor-Gothic panelled octagonal gate piers with Puginesque Gothic ironwork to gates.
