House, former rectory. 1842. Yellow brick with ashlar
dressings, hipped slate roof with lead dressings and 4 ridge
brick stacks. 2 storeys with brick plinth, ashlar first floor
sill band, string course and cornice to parapet, the 3 bay front
has a slightly advanced central bay containing a 2 leaf panelled
door flanked by single vertical lights. In front is a heavy open
porch, up 3 steps, supported on 4 Corinthian columns in antis, a
full entablature with moulded brackets and cornice with antefixa
bearing lions heads. To either side are single glazing bar
sashes with moulded architraves and cornices. To first floor are
3 similar windows with moulded architraves. To the right is a
lower 2 storey service block, 4 bays, the end bay being slightly
advanced. The 3 bay garden front has a centralground floor
window with a cornice on console brackets and flanking 3 light
windows with segmental heads and the side front has a 3 light bay
window with stone pilasters. The house was the gift of the
incumbent the Rev. Hutton.
