House. Probably C17 with later additions and alterations
including C20 infill and renovations. Timber frame with painted
brick and stucco infill, some lath and plaster remains; brick and
stone external stacks; reroofed in C18 or C19 with plain tile
hipped roof, steep gable-ended plain tile roof to rear range.
T-plan. 2 storeys, 2 bays with single-storey rear range.
Rectangular panels of timber framing, some renewed, mainly to
first floor, on bressumer; arch bracing; jowled post at
North-West corner. Entrance to porch in infill. Renewed external
stack to North side and original external stone stack to rear of
wing, renewed in brick to upper stage.
INTERIOR: retains extensive timber framing. Original kitchen to
rear wing has inglenook fireplace relating to external stone
stack. 2 jowled posts to main range and axial beams. Wall plate
remains to first floor, chamfered rafters with run-out stops,
trenched purlins.
