Cottage, now a pair of cottages. Late C17, altered C18 and C19.
Red brick with brick coped tumbled gables with kneelers,
corrugated tin roof over original thatch, having axial brick
stack. Single storey with garret, 4 bay front having 2 planked
doors flanked by added brick buttresses and single 2 light
sliding glazing bar sashes. Interior retains clasped purlin
roof. In 1710, a charity was founded by Samuel Mottram, for the
cottages to be used for 2 widows or widowers of the Parish, with
the use of half an acre of adjoining land and 2 chaldrons of
coal.
