Office building and warehouse. 1885 (dated). Red brick
with stone dressings and slate roof. 4 storeys with attic
and 5 bays. Ground floor has centre pointed arched entrance
with label mould and carved spandrels, flanked by inserted
C20 shop fronts. 1st floor has central oriel with moulded
base and plaque inscribed "ABBEY BUILDINGS". All windows
of 3 lights with mullions and transomed with sill courses,
label moulds and fixed glazing, leaded lights to oriel; 3rd
floor windows have no transoms. Centre stepped gable with
stone lozenge panel. Flanking gables with small; windows
with label moulds and stone coping. Each gable has a stone
heraldic beast holding a shield, the outer ones bearing the
date. Rear warehouse facade of 6 bays with 2 gables and 2
loading bays. Listed for group value only.
