C18 stone plaque bearing Sir Isaac Newton's heraldic arms and recording his date of birth here, the year 1642. (Photo Aug 2005, 363 years later). I take the crossed femurs to allude to his fame as a 'natural philosopher', the C17 equivalent of a scientist.
