House. Early C18, with C20 additions. Red brick and Swithland slate roof
(hipped to wing fronts) with brick end stacks. H plan, entrance now to rear,
but possibly original front faces Churchyard of St. Andrew (q.v.). 2 bands
and moulded brick cornice. 2 1/2 storeys of 5 windows: from left, 2 2-light
wooden mullion and transom windows on wing front, 6/6 sash in recessed centre,
and 6/6 sash and similar 2-light window on wing front. Windows on wing
fronts have brick cambered lintels. A 2-light hipped dormer on each wing
front roof. On ground floor, from left, a rectangular bay window projection
with hipped roof and 2 6/6 sashes to front, and wooden doorcase with fluted
pilasters and 6-panelled door in flat roofed 1 storey addition projecting from
recessed centre. This has low parapet and projects further forward in front
of wing and extends to right. 2 4/4 sashes, 2 6/6 sashes and door with
overlight. 1 storey wing projects from right end of house. On house right
end, above roof of latter, are 2 2-light wooden mullion and transom windows
with brick cambered lintels. The rear front has rubble stone plinth and 2
bands. Recessed centre. 5 2-light wooden mullion and transom windows to
1st floor and 3 2-light hipped dormers over. 4 6/6 sashes on ground floor.
Central doorcase with part-glazed door and fanlight with fine glazing bars.
Inside are C18 colourwashed panelling, 6-panelled doors and an oak staircase
with 2 turned balusters to tread.
