Barn, formerly oast-house, now house and store. C17 origins, with
later alterations and later C19 kiln. Barn timber-framed, weatherboarded.
Kiln red and grey brick in Flemish bond. Outbuilding brick to ground
floor, weatherboarded above. Plain tile roofs. Barn of 2 timber-
framed bays, that to right very narrow. Square kiln added to right end.
Outbuilding attached to right of kiln, gabled to front. Barn roof
hipped to left. Pyramidal roof to kiln, with cowl. Rendered porch with
hipped plain tile roof, inner double doors and arch-braced outer opening,
to narrow right bay of barn. One small casement to kiln and another to
gable end of outbuilding. Ribbed door to ground floor of outbuilding.
Lean-tos to rear, left gable end, and front of barn. Interior: only
partly inspected. Barn with gunstock-jowled posts and arch-braced tie-
beams. C19 clasped purlin roof re-using C17 rafters. Threshing-floor
braces to left side of midstrey. Part of former barn wall with staves
and lath-and-plaster infilling above midrail. Included for group value.
