House. Early C18, altered probably 1920s. Squared and coursed chert rubble and other
local stones, red sandstone rubble quoins and jambs to windows, chert stone voussoirs,
hipped West Somerset slate roof, coped verges to gable ends at rear altered to half hips.
U-plan with stair inserted between wings at rear, service wing set back at right return.
Two storeys, 5 bays; all 12-pane sash windows, central pedimnted Tuscan Doric doorcase
with 6-panel double doors; left return with C20 full-height steel casement bay. Rear
elevation: 2 storeys with attic, quoins, irregular rusticated surround to central full
height glazed stair light, elliptical headed doorway with rusticated surround,C20 door,
service wing set at right angles. Interior not seen.The entrance was resited on the rear
elevation when the stair was inserted probably in the 1920s, and the main elevation
became the garden front. Mounting block set on rear elevation.
