Block of 4 houses. Dated 1906. By Watson Fothergill of
Nottingham. Red brick, with blue brick and ashlar dressings,
timber-framed second floor with rendered nogging. Gabled and
hipped plain tile roofs with various coped brick ridge stacks.
Plinth, angle buttresses to front corners, cogged eaves.
Windows are plain sashes and cross casements with wooden
mullions and transoms. 3 storeys; 4 window range. Asymmetrical
front, with 3 gabled bays to left, and an engaged corner tower
with pyramidal roof to right.
In the centre, 2 pointed arched doorways flanked by canted bay
windows, 2-lights, with hipped roofs. To left, a bay window,
4-lights, set diagonally across the corner and bisected by the
angle buttress. To right, 2 segment-arched sashes. Above, 4
pairs of segment-arched sashes. Above again, 3 gables, each
with a 3-light cross casement. Corner tower has 2 small single
sashes, and to its right return, a canted oriel window, 3
lights.
Returns have central doorways, that to right altered, that to
left with original half-glazed door and sidelights. Over the
doors, square timber-framed garderobes with bottle-end nogging
and half-hipped roofs.
