Pair of houses, now shops and flat. Early C19,incorporating probably
C17 core. Painted brick; rendered right-hand gable end (probably
over timber frame) on sandstone plinth. Slate roof. 3 storeys.
Dentil brick eaves cornice (with paired headers). Central brick ridge
stack. 3 bays; glazing bar sashes (16-pane to first floor and 12-pane
to second floor) with painted stone cills and painted stone lintels with
inscribed keystones (some glazing bars removed). Pair of early C19
wooden shopfronts with attenuated fluted Doric columns, C20 fascias
obscuring frieze, and later plate-glass windows. Side passage to left
with C20 door and rusticated voussoirs. Interior not fully inspected
but some timber framing noted. Included for group value.
