Open hall house, now 2 cottages. Probably C14 or C15, extensively re-
modelled early to mid-C19 with later additions and alterations. Rendered
brick concealing timber frame, partly of cruck construction, plain tile roof
with end stack to right and subsidiary stack in front of ridge to left of
centre. One storey and attic, dentilled eaves cornice; irregular fene-
stration, four C20 casements to ground floor with two C20 gabled dormers
above in roof slope; entrance to No.4 through boarded door to right and
to No.5 through C20 glazed door in left return. Interior: 2 arch-braced
true cruck trusses with Alcock apex type L2. V.C.H. VIII (1968), p.33;
