Farmhouse. Early C17, extended early C19 with later additions and alterations.
Timber framed with plaster infill on high rendered plinth, brick additions
now roughcast; graded slate roofs. Original L-plan comprising hall
range with cross-wing to west; early C19 range parallel with cross-
wing on south. 2 storeys. Framing: exposed to hall range, small square
panels, 4 from cill to wall-plate with apparently inverted jowled wall
posts to north gable end; collar and tie beam end truss with V-struts
from collar and double purlins; cross-wing largely obscured from view
by later range to south and painted brick 2-storey lean-to on north
but crow-stepping visible to gable. Two late C19 casements flanking
earlier infilled window directly below eaves to left of hall range with
another late C19 casement below; 2 late C20 casements on each floor
to south range with contemporary gabled timber porch to left but right
gable end retains one 16-paned sash in stone surround to each floor.
Prominent red brick stack in roof slope of cross-wing at junction with
hall range and tall red brick ridge stack approximately to centre of
south range. Interior: not inspected but likely to be of interest.
