Farmhouse and attached barn. Mid-C18 with later additions and alterations.
Red brick, painted to front; slate roof. 2 storeys and attic, floor
bands; 3-window front, segmental-headed 6-paned sashes; gabled eaves
dormers, also with sashes to left and right. Central entrance, 6-
panel door (top panels glazed) under rendered neo-classical porch dated
1921. Prominent axial red brick stack to centre immediately in front
of ridge. Mid-C19 rubblestone and brick gabled addition to rear.
Barn: attached to left gable end. Reddish brown brick, plain tile
roof with crowstepped left gable end. Former threshing barn with right
bay converted to domestic use. 2 levels, dentilled eaves cornice;
infilled threshing entrance in fourth bay from left with eaves hatches
and doorways to front; right bay has C19 horizontal sliding sash directly
below eaves and 6-paned sash, similar to those in main part of house,
to ground floor; red brick stack in roof slope. Rows of air vents
to rear and left gable end. Interior: of house not inspected but said
to have chamfered ceiling beams and joists and 6-panel doors. Barn
has continuous loft and double-purlin roof in 6 (formerly 7) bays with
raking and vertical struts from tie beams to principal rafters.
