Inscription on east wall reads: 'pray for the soul of Syr Harie Vernon Knight and Dame Anne Hys Wife which Syr Harie in the year II of Owre Lord MCCCCCXV made and fowndyd thys Chapell and Chawntry, and the sayd Syr Harry II. Departed the XIII day of Apryl in yere above sayd. And of your charite for the soll of Syr Arthur Vernon Pryst Sone of the above sayd Sir Harry on whos Sollys the Lord have Mercy. Amen'
