House. Mid to late C17, extended late C18, altered C20. Timber frame to
core with C20 ground floor brick casing, first floor plastered. Brick
extension with first floor render. Tiled roofs. 2 cell lobby entry, 2
storeys and attic, lower wing added to rear. Original entrance front is
now right return. Former central entrance with pentice porch, now a
window. French windows inserted to right. First floor plaster scored to
resemble ashlar, 2 and 3 light flush metal frame lattice casements with
small C20 projecting oriels on brackets. Original axial ridge stack to
left of centre, roughly cruciform. Right or service end lean-to outshut,
red brick and pantiled with 1 and 2 light lattice casements. Steep pitch
to roof. Right end gable with a 2 light lattice casement and C20
pargetting. Left return has entrance with a panelled door in gabled
timber and rendered porch where original block meets C18 wing, flanking
canted bay windows on ground floor, 2 lights to left, 3 to right; all
with lattice casements. First floor in original gable has a projecting
square oriel and a 2 light attic window with a hood, exposed purlin.
First floor on C18 wing has a recessed 2 light casement with a cambered
head. Dentilled brick eaves. Internal end stack. Gable end parapet with
brick kneelers. C20 pantiled lean-to to rear of C18 wing. Interior: some
exposed framing and early fireplaces. (RCHM Typescript).
