Farmhouse. Datestone: HE 1730 over door.Chalk ashlar front, with limestone
dressings; stone slate roof. brick stacks. Central staircase plan with rear
service area under separate roofs. 2 storey, 5-window range of sashes. Central
6-panelled (2 glazed) door under flat hood with moulded cornice on carved
brackets. Limeston ashlar band at floor level; brick dentilled eaves;
limestone coping; symmetrical end stacks; gabled right side wall has chalk
horizontal bands. 3 rear blocks forming continuous outshut. built of chalk and
sarsen each with hipped roof, late C19 and C20 casements, central door in
semi-circular brick arch set in stack over, mid C19 canted bay window in side
wall, one C181-light leaded casement in rear gabled dormer. Interior: Stone
flag floor; fine straight-flight staircase of c.1730 with moulded balusters;
quarter turn service stairs in centre of rear outshut; plank and stud panelling
with guilloche frieze and skirting in rear right room, square framed panelling
in front left room. Farmhouse was formerly part of the Craven estate.
