2 cottages, formerly one house. Mid C18. Brick in Flemish bond; old plain-tile
roof with brick stacks. 2-unit plan with end outshuts, divided. 2 storeys plus
attic. Symmetrical 3-window front, with stepped plinth, storey band and dentil
eaves course, has a central plank door between C19 enlarged 3-light casements,
all with segmental arches; at first floor 2-light casements flank a central
blind window. Outshuts are slightly recessed and have segmental-arched 2-light
casements. Hipped roof has 2 gabled roof dormers and 2 tall stacks rising from
the rear. Interior not inspected. Forms the southern termination of the village
street, facing Nos.38, 39 and 40 (q.v.) which was probably formerly an identical
house. Part of the estate village built c.1760 by the 1st Earl Harcourt.
