Pair of cottages and shop. Mid C18, extended C19 and C20. Brick in Flemish bond
with some flared headers; timber framing with brick infill; old plain-tile roof
with brick stack. 2-unit plans, extended. One storey plus attic. 2-window
cottage fronts partly in chequer brick with dentil eaves course and segmental
arches, each have three 2-light casements, some with plank shutters. Central
window of No.30A (to left) replaces a former doorway; front of No.31 is in C20
brick. Added shop bay to extreme left is probably C19 but has been altered and
now has a wide segmental-arched window. Cottages have 2 gabled dormers each and
share a central stack. Right end wall was formerly fully timber framed and
retains principal timbers. Higher extension to rear of No.30A. Interiors not
inspected. Part of the estate village built c.1760 by the 1st Earl Harcourt.
