Stables. Mid C18. Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings; stone-
slate roof. Square plan. 2 storeys plus loft. Banded rubble and ashlar
walls have irregular arrangement of tall diamond-leaded casements, with flat
arches and keyblocks, and 3-centre arched doorways with moulded architraves
and keyblocks. Main front has blocked carriage arch to right with rectangular
hay-loft door over and further doorway to left. Pyramid roof has a renewed
timber cupola (formerly a glover) with a lead ogee roof. Interior: Ground
floor has C19 loose-boxes; first-floor hay-loft retains some internal plank
shutters; wooden dovecote in loft is supported on 4 jowled posts rising through
the building. Roof has 3 rows of butt purlins.
