House, formerly Inn. C18 with attached dining room by Joseph
pocklington, 1788. Brick with slate and pantile roofs. Gables
with bargeboards, 3 gable, single ridge and 2 side wall stacks.
Single and 2 storeys, 5 plus 3 bays. L-plan. East front has
main facade to left, with 5 glazing bar sashes, with rubbed brick
heads, on each floor. Dining room, to right, has central
casement with segmental head in blocked doorway. Flanked by
single Venetian windows with rubbed brick heads. North end has
C20 door to left. South end has to left, C19 panelled door with
gabled slated hood on curved brackets, flanked by single glazing
bar sashes. To right, a similar door and hood, and to its right,
a glazing bar sash. Above, to left, a blank panel flanked by
single glazing bar sashes, and to right, a glazing bar sash and a
blank panel. Above again, in gable, a blank panel. House
interior stripped during conversion. Dining room is said to
contain notable C18 plaster ceiling.
