Farmhouse. C17 with C18 additions and C19 alterations, with
adjoining service room, stable with granary over and pigsty.
Timber framed with brick cladding, rendered, and brick. Hipped,
gabled and lean-to pantile roofs. Plain, rebated and dentillated
eaves, single coped gable with kneelers, 2 ridge, 2 side wall and
2 gable stacks. Single and 2 storeys, 3 plus 2 bays, U-plan.
Windows are mostly glazing bar Yorkshire sashes. Main south
front has projecting gabled wing to west and gabled stable and
pigsty to east. To left, C19 extruded corner with lean-to roof
and a glazing bar fixed light. To right, a C19 close boarded
door with segmental rubbed brick head, flanked to left by a C19
window with similar head, and to right by a C18 window. Beyond,
a C18 plank door and to its right a slatted opening with
segmental head. To right again, opening containing brick and
stone stairway. Gable to right has a single stable door with
timber lintel. Above, to left, a C19 window and to its right a
fixed light and a C18 window. Gable to right has a slatted
casement with timber lintel, flanked by remains of alighting
shelves. Above again, blocked round opening. House west front
has 3 C19 windows on each floor. East front has to left a re-set
C19 door and above, to right, a single window. Outbuilding west
front has to left a stable door with segmental head and
overlight. To right, damaged opening with feeding trough, and to
right again, 2 stable doors with timber lintels. Outbuilding
east side has C19 and C20 lean-to addition. To left, a stable
door and to right, 3 C20 casements. North side has to left a
hatch and to its right a door with segmental head, flanked by
single pairs of garage doors with timber lintels. Beyond to
right, 4 C19 windows and 2 plank hatches. Above, to right, gable
with a single sash window. Interior has mud and stud wall,
single bay post, chamfered span beams, C18 winder stairs with
landing, square newels and stick balusters, 2 C18 fielded
panelled doors, 3 C19 panelled doors, C18 moulded fireplace
bressummer, brick fireplace with adjoining oven recess, 2 C19
fire surrounds and C19 kitchen range.
