Kennel-block, former kennel-man's house and yard walls. Dated 1768. Ashlar
and squared sandstone. House has Welsh slate roof and stone chimney. Kennel
with walled yards on south, east and west; house on west side of south yard.
Gothick style. Pointed doorways and windows with Y-tracery in flat-faced,
chamfered surrounds.
Single-storey, 3-bay kennel block: central doorway, flanking windows and
battlements on rubble south wall; similar features plus cross-loops on 2-bay
ashlar returns; datestone inscribed L A I 1768 (Lancelot Allgood) below central
embrasure on west return; large central opening and flanking doorways on north;
roofless.
2-storey, 2-bay house: ashlar quoins; blocked doorway and 2-light window, with
square opening above, on west; low-pitched roof with coped gables and end
stack; flight of stone steps under pointed archway on north return; similar
door and window details on rear.
South yard enclosed on 2 sides by tall flat-coped rubble wall; pointed archway
near junction with kennel block. East yard enclosed on 3 sides by low ashlar
wall with chamfered coping; raised section incorporating pointed archway in
centre of east wall. West yard enclosed on 2'sides by low rubble wall with
chamfered coping. A picturesque landscape feature; the kennel block is a
roofless shell; the house is used for storage.
