House. 1848 by John Dobson for the Newcastle and Gateshead Water Co. Ashlar
with Welsh slate roof. Castellated, octagonal, 2-storey tower with lower 2-
storey wing of 3 irregular bays attached to left.

Gabled porch with fleur de lys finial,ridged coping, kneelers and Tudor-arched
doorway in right bay of wing. 3-light double-chamfered mullioned windows except
1st floor centre which is a single light. Similar windows in tower ground floor;
1st floor windows are mullion-and-transom crosses with hoodmoulds. Front wall
of tower is blank with Newcastle upon Tyne coat of arms in panel under hoodmould
with Tudor rose stops. Tower has chamfered plinth above ground floor and external
chimney stack on right return with 2 corniced and castellated octagonal chimneys.

Wing has chamfered eaves soffit, gabled roof with ridged crow-stepped coping and
one stone corniced end stack.
