Walls and gatepiers, 1723. Brick with ashlar dressings. Rusticated stone
gatepiers with attached jambs have tall finials carved as baskets of fruit and
flowers. Late C19 wrought-iron gate. Brick quadrant walls link to angle
pilasters and front wall of garden, on chamfered stone plinths which run to outer
brick piers with moulded caps and large pineapple finials. Lower wall with
shallow stone coping links outer right pier to south-west corner of Old Hall.

Erected by Deodatus Threlkeld who remodelled the Old Hall and moved into residence
in 1723.
