Corn mill and miller's house. Mid C18. Ashlar with Welsh slate roof.
L-plan. 2 storeys with attics, 6 bays. The mill is the right 4 bays, the
left 2 bays being the side elevation of the miller's house. Rusticated
quoins.
Mill: 2-leaf boarded door to left with 10-pane overlight under flat arch
with tall finely-shaped voussoirs. To right, 2-leaf door, with similar arch,
to Wheelhouse. Between are 2 windows with fixed 15-pane upper parts and
shuttered lower sections. lst-floor sill band. 3 windows, now boarded up,
and a 2-leaf pitching door, to right, with 10-pane overlight; all of these
openings have similar flat arches.
The 2 left bays (i.e. to the miller's house) have 12-pane sashes with similar
flat arches on 1st floor but huge wedge lintels on ground floor. Eaves
cornice. Roof gabled on right with flat coping; hipped on left.
Left return, the miller's house, 3 bays. Central panelled door in raised
surround. Ground- and lst-floor sill bands and a broader lot-floor band.
12-pane sashes, with wedge lintels on ground floor, flat arches above.
Interior of house has mid-C18 staircase with cut string, turned balusters
and moulded handrail. 6-panelled doors with panelled reveals, and panelled
shutters.
