Farmhouse and cowhouse. Early C18 Farmhouse with mid to late C19 addition,
and mainly mid to late C19 cowhouse incorporating some C16 work. Red brick;
plain tile roofs; brick stacks. C18 house aligned north-south facing west
with cowhouse attached to its north-west corner, on the same alignment and
C19 addition to its south-east corner aligned east-west, facing south.
The C19 addition to the farmhouse involved a re-orientation, the west entrance
was blocked and the new south elevation became the entrance front. South
front. 2 storeys with corner pilaster strips and hipped roof; 2 bays, C20
windows in imitation of glazing bar sashes, those to the ground floor have
lintels with fluted keys. Central C20 glazed door with fanlight and radiating
glazing bars. West front. Early C18 house to the right: 2 storeys with
storey band and raised roof verges; 5 bays, casements with segmental heads.
Blocked central door. Cowhouse attached to the left; blind except for two
3-light chamfer mullioned windows with rebated frames, towards the left.
The left hand half of the cowhouse is C16, the brick work being in English
bond. Towards the farmyard at the rear is a pair of doors with four-centred
heads.
