Whittington House and Elswick House

House, now divided into two. Early C18 with later additions. Red
brick; plain tile roof with coped verges; brick ridge stack and rear
stack. Aligned east-west facing north, main house (Whittington House)
to the east, services (Elswick House) to the west, a late C19 extension
aligned north-south was added to the front of Elswick House. Main house
(Whittington House) to the left of 2 storeys and attic with first floor
band and coped parapet ramped down at each end and continued to the right
along the 2 storey service end (Elswick House); projecting 2 storey
extension to the left hand of Elswick House with dentilled eaves band
and coped verges; 5:1:1 bays, casements with segmental heads, several
of the windows of Whittington House front solid walls; Whittington House
has a central half-glazed door with bracketed cornice hood. Interior
not inspected.
