Formerly the Red Lion Inn and originally a C15 timber-framed and plastered
building with cross wings at the north-east and south-west ends. Very
much altered in the C18 when it was refronted in red brick, the centre
part built out and the cross wing roofs and the roof to the centre block
were hipped back. Roofs tiled. Two storeys and cellars. Four window
range of mainly bar and transom 3-light casements with leaded lights
and segmental heads. The ground storey has a double bayed shop front
with 2 central 6-panel doors under a cornice. The windows have glazing
bars (one with small panes) and there is one double-hung sash with vertical
glazing bars.
