A C15-C16 timber-framed and plastered building with a cross wing at the
west end. Roof tiled. The cross wing has carved bargeboards and the
remains of elaborate floral pargetting on the upper storey. No 69 adjoins
the west side of the cross wing, set back to the south and together they
form a complex combination of gabled wings and blocks. Roof tiled.
Two storeys. The upper storey is jettied on the front on exposed joists
and the east end has exposed timber-framing on the upper storey and gable.
The cross wing has a 4-light bar and transom leaded casement window and
the ground storey has two 2-light leaded casements. The main block has
a small shop window with glazing bars and doorway of C18 appearance.
The upper storey has a loft storage doorway. The main block was long
used as a store and shop to the former forge opposite (Nos 7 to 9 consec).
