Formerly The White Horse Inn, said to have been built in 1425. A long
timber-framed and plastered building with the timber-framing exposed
on the front. Two storeys. The upper storey was originally jettied
and was built out with timber-framing in the C17. Four window range
of modern casements with glazing bars, inserted in the old window openings.
There is a carved bressumer on the front. The ground storey has 2 former
shop windows with glazing bars (probably C18 or early C19) also one tripartite
double-hung sash window with glazing bars and narrow side lights. The
doorway has an old 4 centred arch with carved spandrels. The interior
has heavy exposed ceiling beams and joists, one room has good moulded
joists and original open fireplaces.
