A fine late C15 timber-framed manor house built circa 1490 by Sir Richard Waldegrave for his son. The house was extensively restored in 1923 when the north and south gable ends were rebuilt. The west front has mainly red brick herringbone nogging and some plaster infil. The gables at the north and south ends are crowstepped and have octagonal piers with pinnacles. On the south end there is a square bay with 5-light brick mullioned windows, with transomes on the ground storey windows. On the west front gabled wings project slightly at the north and south ends. The main block between the wings is jettied on the upper storey on a fine carved bressummer. 2 storeys and attics. The upper storey windows are 2 and 5-light mullioned casements with fine carved traceried heads. The windows in the main block have small high level flanking lights. On the ground storey there are 2 five-light mullioned and transomed bays flanked by ranges of high level lights. All the windows have lattice leaded lights. A gabled porch with cut and shaped ornamental bargeboards projects on the front. Roof tiled, with a number of good chimney stacks with octagonal shafts, moulded spur caps and moulded bases. The interior has fine carved and moulded beams and many original features.
