Pair of late C17 or early C18 houses. 2 storeys + attics in 2 gables.
Each house has 2 windows (paired), sashes with glazing bars in reveals,
except ground floor window of No 47, which is casement with original stone
mullions and dripmoulds. Square-headed doorways. No 48 has "solid" porch
with deep roll bolection moulding around door opening. Stone-tiled roofs,
eaves project between gables.
Nos 38 to 49 (consec) form a group.
