Stone-wall, steps and
gatepiers to forecourt

No 29 is above road level and a turning flight of stone steps leads from
the road to forecourt, which has a stone wall revetment. 2 stone gatepiers
come forward at foot of steps. Piers have recessed panels and moulded
tops supporting a wrought-iron arched lamp-bracket. Wrought-iron gate
incorporating spike motif. Another similar pair of gatepiers to left
also with wrought-iron gates. Isolated single pier set in wall towards
middle. Wrought-iron spiked railings run along the top of the wall enclosing
the forecourt.
All the listed buildings in Church Street the Chantry Little Chantry,
Barton Orchard and the Catholic Church of St Thomas More, Market Street
form a group with Nos 7 and 9 to 19 Barton Orchard, Nos 5 and 6 and 27
to 31 (consec) and wall Newtown.
