House. Early C16. Timber-framed with brick infill panels and some brick
rebuilding; plain tile roof; brick ridge stack and integral end stack. Hall
house. Now 2 storeys: rail at mid-height with large rectangular panels above and
large arched braces at the bay divisions and at the ends. Below the middle rail
the frame has been largely replaced with brick. Slightly irregular 3-window
front: early C19 glazing bar casements. Early C19 six-panel door to left of
centre; the upper 2 panels are glazed and it has a bracketed pediment. The right
hand gable end has been rebuilt in brick but the left hand gable retains similar
framing to the front elevation together with a queen strut roof truss with
clasped purlins above the collar. Interior: 2-bay hall with central tie beam
truss and a spere truss marking the line of the cross-passage. 2-storey north
bay containing solar over service rooms.
