Row of cottages, now library, and workshop superseding forge and
cottage. Late C18 - early C19. Colourwashed stone rubble, No. 3
stuccoed. Tile roof. 2-storey, approximately 6 bays. Boarded
doors, and pair of stable doors to Old Forge. 6-panelled and
fielded door to No. 3. Timber casement windows with segmental heads
to ground floor. Strip glazing with oak lintels to workshop.
Dentilled eaves. Left gable rebuilt. Stack to right of No. 3,
others removed. Listed for group value only, the row being an
important element in enclosing The Square.
