Group of Fowle monuments in churchyard, 8 m south of chancel, Church of St Peter

Group of 5 chest tombs in 2 rows. C18 and early C19. Limestone.
East row, from north; (a) Double chest tomb with moulded table and
base, oval panels between scrolled pilasters. To William Fowle,
died 1777. (b) Tall chest tomb, moulded table and base. Recessed
corner balusters and oval panels between garlanded pilasters. To
Mrs Bloxham (Fowle), died 1820. West row, from north; (c) Chest
tomb with moulded table and base. Fluted end pilasters and cornice.
Inscription on raised shields to Thomas Fowle, died 1740. (d) Chest
tomb, moulded table and base. Thin corner balusters and reeded
fascia. Moulded panels not legible, early C19. (e) Similar but
oval gadrooned panel, to Henry Fowle, died 1782.
