Farmhouse, formerly Drax Farm. Late C16 - C17. Timber framed with
wattle and daub mostly replaced with brick noggings. Thatched roof
replacing original stone slates. Two storeys and attics, 3 bays,
with 2-bay added rear wing in timber framing originally with
kitchen, further extended by 1 bay dairy in clunch with brick
dressings. Western bay faced in late C17-early C18 brick, other
bays faced in C19 brick and east gable C20. Entrance now in rear
wing in thatched porch. Timber casement windows. Frame 2 panels
high to each floor.
Interior has deep chamfered spine beams and chamfered fire lintel
to rear wing gable stack. Central bay has curved windbraces.
Cross passage within central bay has stud and panel partitions.
