East Bergholt Bellcage - inside view

Uploader's Comments

The bells at rest inside the cage. The bell tower of the church was to be financed by Cardinal Wolsey, but he fell from grace before he could provide the money. The cage was erected as a temporary measure in 1531, and the bells have been rung from it ever since.
