House, 1767 as carved on 1st floor beam in main room. 2-cell end-chimney
plan. 1 storey and attics. Timber-framed and roughcast. Thatched roof; an
original internal end chimney of red brick to right, and another of C19/20 to
left. Gabled and eyebrow thatched dormers with small-pane casements. C20
metal casements and glazed panelled entrance door, with open lean-to
plaintiled porch on posts. Pantiled lean-to C19/20 extensions to right and
left. Chamfered ceiling joists set on edge, and a little other framing
exposed. Included as a late but typical example, clearly dated 1767, of a
type of house found in central Suffolk from mid C16 onwards.
