Former farmhouse, now 2 cottages, the right cottage unmodernised. Late C16.
Timber framed and plastered, the ground floor mostly rebuilt in colourwashed
brick. Pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 3-cell form. Mid C20 small-
paned casement windows and 6-panel door to left cottage, C19 casements to
right cottage. Internal stack. Single-storey additions to each gable end.
Left cottage has exposed first floor studding with reversed bracing. Arched
brick fireplace in hall chamber. Parlour (in right cottage) has a bridging
beam cased in moulded plasterwork. The ceiling of the parlour chamber is
divided into 4 by plaster-moulded cross beams, with a moulded border to each
division. Also in the right cottage the original newel stairs. Roof has
clasped and butt purlins, with cranked wind-bracing.
