House, c.1570. 3-cell plan. One storey and attics. Timber-framed and
plastered. Thatched roof with gabled plaintiled dormers with small-pane
casements. An axial C16 chimney of narrow buff/pink brick, the shaft rebuilt
in C18 red brick. An external gable chimney of C17 to left. Two good late
C18 or early C19 cross-casements with Gothick cast-iron traceried lights above
the transomes. A C19/C20 corner porch with lean-to slated roof and panelled
door. An early C20 pantiled lean-to extension to front right. Quite complete
unmoulded C16 framing: chamfered floor joists and a lintelled open fireplace
in the hall. Arch windbraced studding, and a number of diamond-mullioned
windows. The upper floors in parlour and service cells were renewed in
C17/C18; in the service cell is a large reused moulded bridging beam with C15
casement mouldings. Side-purlin roof.
