Description

HOXNE GREEN STREET
TM 17 NE
2/90 Dairy Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Early C16. Restored in early 1970's when rear wing was enlarged.
Timber framed and plastered with a pantiled roof. 2 storeys, a former attic
now disused. A range of 3 mid C20 standard small-paned casement windows. 2
small secondary diamond-mullioned windows below stack. 3 gabled half-dormers.
Internal stack, a later insertion. Mid C20 door in rear wing. Internally the
frame is mostly exposed, with arched bracing at the angles and evidence for
original diamond-mullioned windows (one intact). Plain joists in both ground
floor rooms. The original layout seems to have been altered when the stack
was inserted.
