House and shop. C15-C16, in 2 in-line phases, gable end onto street. C19
addition to north. Timber framed and rendered, lined in imitation of ashlar.
C19 work in brick, rendered at front. Roof slated at front, the wing to rear
plaintiled. Front gable has scalloped bargeboards and spike finial. 2
storeys. Front block was jettied to street and to north (evidence from a
dragon beam, now concealed). Mainly sash windows with glazing bars. Doorway
into house has 6-panel fielded door, overlight, pilastered architrave and
cornice. Open porch with cornice on heavy timber columns with fluted caps.
Above are French windows. To left, a projecting 12-paned shop window and mid
C20 semi-glazed door. Interior. 4-bay frame, the front 2 bays the earlier.
Exposed studs on upper floor, those in front bay with red ochre colouring.
Gable end facing street has close studding and the deep sill of an oriel
window. Front section has arched-braced cambered tie beam with peg for crown-
post. Roof over this section largely rebuilt.
