- II

Farmhouse. Mid C19 with later C19 wing to rear. Front block is red brick,
laid in rat-trap bond except in the gables. Roof of glazed black pantiles.
Rear wing red brick with slated roof. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay front:
pilaster strips at the corners and flanking the narrower centre bay. Parapet
gables, stepped out at the eaves. Sash windows with glazing bars, slightly
inset, under segmental wedge lintols with raised keys. Doorway has 6-panel
raised and fielded door, the upper 2 panels glazed; porch with entablature on
tapering fluted timber columns, their bases missing. Gable stack to left. A
good example of rat-trap bond brickwork, unusually combined with a good
doorcase.
