Former farmhouse. Late C18 front range, C16-C17 work to rear. Double pile
plan. Front range in colourwashed brick, with brick dentil eaves cornice and
parapet gables with tumbling. Rear timber framed and plastered. Roof slated
to front, the other slopes pantiled. 2 storeys and attics. 3 windows, inset
sashes with glazing bars under gauged brick arches, the upper windows half-
height. Panelled shutters to ground floor windows. Good doorway: inset 6-
panel raised and fielded door, segmental fanlight with glazing bars under
keyed arch; panelled reveals; sunk pilasters, broken entablature supported by
console brackets on shell corbels, open pediment. 3 dormers with small-paned
windows, the central one shallow-gabled, the others flat-roofed. Red brick
gable stacks. 2-cell rear wing has internal stack with axial shaft.
Interior. Straight stair with stick balusters and ramped handrail. In rear
wing, exposed studs and evidence for diamond-mullioned windows. Plain joists
exposed in lower ceilings, set flat in left cell and square in right cell.
Framing in left cell is more substantial and probably earlier in origin.
