House. C16 2-cell main range with C18-C19 work to right, including a small
barn converted and incorporated into living accommodation c.1980. Timber
framed and rendered. Tarred weatherboards to right return wall. Concrete-
pantiled roof over main block, shallow-pitched slated roof to right. 2
storeys with attic to left. 4 windows, 2 and 3-light casements, probably of
early C20, the upper windows with a slender horizontal glazing bar to each
light. Doorway has mid C20 surround and glazed door. One dormer with small-
paned 2-light window. Stack against right gable end of main block has plain
C18 shaft. Internal stack at junction with house to left. Interior. Intact
C16 first floor frame in 3 bays. Ground floor has 2-bay room to left, now
reduced in size: storey posts with cut-back heads, plain joists exposed in one
bay. Fireplace has massive lintol and brickwork with remains of lining of
mortar joints; the opening has been reduced in width. Closely-spaced plain
joists in room to right. Side purlin roof. A public house (The Brewers Arms)
in early C20.
